Wind and Rain Signal Faults
Intermittent faults particularly with the anemometer or rain collector where they are connected by cables systems are usually down to one of 3 things;
- failing reed switch.
- stray RF/EMF being picked up by the cables.
- earth potential differences between one end of the system and the other. The other usually being a PC with a poor earth.
1, Failing reed switches will happen occasionally. The items used are always high duty components and should last many years. However they will occasionally fail earlier that one might have wished.
