There are many what might be termed communities of weather enthusiasts on the internet.
Some are actually commercial portals using world wide weather gathered from their "community" of users to provide a public and commercial services. As a rule their public services are a means to deliver advertising content using their weather service as the driver.
Others are more often described as forums, for they usually started as discussion forums. As they have developed some of them have grown into rich resources of additional information.
TheWeatherOutlook
TheWeatherOutlook site was established in 2001 by Brian Gaze with the forum being launched shortly afterwards. The forum now has a several strong management team which is responsible for moderating and look after the content. Today the forum has over 7000 members and has generated hundreds of thousands of topics and posts. There are regularly 100s of members online but you don't have to be a member just to browse the site.Weather-Watch
Weather Watch is very much a specialised forum for users of weather station software and in particular for the WeatherDisplay family of products.
It is a UK base site but has more than 8000 members world wide who between them have generated over 30,000 posts. Weather-Watch was started 10 years ago by Chris McMahon who manages today with a team of moderators. Chris is also one of the developers behind MesoMap Live.
theWeather Club
theWeather Club is a non-profit public membership club for anybody with an interest in weather and climate. It was launched in September 2010 by the Royal Meteorological Society. The club costs £10 a year to join, with membership benefits including access to exclusive web content and forums, a quarterly magazine, special offers and a collectable A-Z of weather terminology.
