theWeather Club
theWeather Club is a non-profit public membership club for anybody with an interest in weather and climate. It was launched in September 2010 by the Royal Meteorological Society. The club costs £10 a year to join, with membership benefits including access to exclusive web content and forums, a quarterly magazine, special offers and a collectable A-Z of weather terminology.
theWeatherClub.org.uk contains a digest of weather-related news stories from around the world, features about the weather and its impact upon sport, culture, travel and politics, and comment pieces from a range of experts. All features offer the scope for comment threads, an open forum allows debate on anything of interest to the club’s members, and a picture gallery allows members to share their photographs of spectacular weather scenes.
The website is designed to be broad ranging and highly accessible, and requires no great meteorological expertise.
