The National Geographic 9080500 is a 256-colour 5-in-1 wireless weather station that combines a compact design with comprehensive weather information. Its outdoor multi-sensor measures temperature, humidity, wind speed and direction and rainfall, all shown with current and historical values on a large colour display, alongside time, calendar, moon phase, air pressure, heat index and dew point. From the readings it calculates a reliable 12-hour local weather trend, displayed as six graphic symbols. Programmable alerts warn you when your set minimum or maximum values are exceeded, and a special frost/ice warning can be activated for outdoor temperatures from -3°C. Current and historical values are shown on the large colour display of the base station. From the collected measurements the weather station calculates a reliable local weather trend forecast for the next 12 hours, displayed as six graphic symbols.

Don't be caught out by weather extremes: alerts can be programmed to notify you if minimum and maximum values are exceeded (outdoor temperature, rainfall and so on), and for outdoor temperatures from -3 °C a special frost/ice warning alert can be activated.

It is a gift for my wife and she loves it. But .... she is struggling to set time and date. Not sure what "zone" we are in and there appears to be no table or definition. We are GMT being pretty close to Greenwich.

Disappointed

Having received a replacement for my original purchase, the good news is the anemometer is fully functional. However, after two weeks of searching the base unit has still not tuned in to the UK radio signal. I have not set the clock manually in order to establish whether it will put the clock one hour at the end of this month. Secondly, there is still no battery backup with this device despite using batteries that are known to work in other devices. Although these two continuing faults are an inconvenience, I will keep the device.

Found the unit easy to erect and function. Only downside cannot locate a method of turning screen illumination off during night.

I have had outdoor temperature and indoor monitors for many years but when the outdoor sensor stopped working on my current unit I decided to buy this weather station. The colour graphics are great and it is mains powered so a lovely bright display. The current rain and wind info is interesting to have now as well as the temperatures. A good piece of kit.
