Technoline WS 1700 Complete Weather Station with Programmable Weather Alerts

Straightforward to set up with clearly lit display. Just rained today so I can now confirm all measuring functions work. Date is shown in German and time set to gmt but not a problem. Very pleased overall.

It is very difficult to set the time to UK time.Also the rain gauge does not work ( the preious version did not either) otherwise it is OK

Easy to set up, bit fiddly using the tiny nuts and screws putting the sensors together on the mounts. Mounts are a bit cheap and seem fragile but I guess you get what you pay for. Everything is working fine tho. Screen seems a little dim in bright room co

Ideal weather station easy set up and plenty of support if you have problems

supposedley an upgtade for the WS1600 but not a patch on it. all the good points of ws 1600 have been omitted from the ws1700

I bought this as an upgrade for my old, less sophisticated weather station which I had enjoyed for several years. This version has the receiver as part of the ‘centre’ which means no more wires trailing across the garden! I did have some problems following the set up instructions which I think were translated from German. However, I did manage and I would thoroughly recommend this for anyone interested in watching the weather.

Took some time to build. The multilingual instructions were printed in a small font. Rain gauge doesn't work. Initially the outside sensors were not talking to the base station. But removing and replacing the batteries kicked it into life. Otherwise displ

Very pleased with my new weather station, set up was straightforward with the instructions easy to follow. The receiver looks sleek with clear weather information on the screen which also looks good on my Desk. Great value for money, would recommend

I am most impressed with the ease the 1700 was assembled. Once assembled and powered up all of the functions connected automatically on Wi-Fi.

I want to mount my station on the chimney top. As the batteries are in the sender unit I want to mount it in a more accessible position. If I connected 10mtr long wires from the Rain gauge and wind speed and direction units will it work ?

Or if I fitted an external battery box on a 10mtr line, ensuring it is weather tight, would that work ?

I am disappointed that the RF sender has to be mounted adjacent to the other recording pieces. I want to mount it on my chimney which means ladder access every year to replace batteries. I wanted extension wires but they are not available .

Husband absolutely loves this weather station, and it took him months to decide which one to go for. He would recommend this to his friends and family. He found it easy to set up.

I bought this kit because the product description and the price were exactly what I was looking for. It`s very easy to put together and mount, however beware of the programming, it is very easily confused, and both the transponder and the display terminal need defaulting, (disconnect from the power supply and remove the batteries). Connectivity between the transponder and the nuclear clock can be very slow, However once working it`s very good.
